As chair of this year’s CROI, Dr. Coffin reviews some of the more important basic science that was presented this year, which includes: evolutionary aspects and how they affect replication, valuable genomic factor relationship to HIV pathogenesis, viral mechanisms, disruptive agents and the need for agents to specifically turn on latent virus. He is always interesting to speak with about the amazing backstory to science in HIV research.
